Linux Doesn’t Need To Look Like Windows

October 14, 2007 at 7:42 pm (Uncategorized)

Here’s the big reason I feel as uneasy as I do: it’s tantamount to an admission of defeat. The only way Linux can “succeed” is if it looks like Windows. And frankly, isn’t there something hypocritical about railing againstMicrosoft (NSDQ: MSFT) for not innovating and then turning around and mimicking them, right down to the chrome on the user interface?

This comes back to a question many people have asked before. Does Linux have to look like Windows to work? Not “beat Windows at its own game”, which if you ask me is a red herring, but work. Granted, the Windows UI is familiar territory for most people with at least some degree of computer use, but that doesn’t mean it has to be the be-all and end-all of UI design. Read more

An answer to old fashiond menus: Raptor

October 12, 2007 at 7:03 pm (Uncategorized)

The new Raptop will replace the K-menu in KDE4. I like it very much. It’s useful, looks nicer and faster to be used than the old fashioned menus like the “start menu” in windows or even K-menu in KDE3 series. See it to believe it >

New ping-pong club in school

October 10, 2007 at 7:24 pm (Uncategorized)

I like ping-pong, so because there was no ping-pong club in my school, I decided to make one myself. It’s done now. We will have our first practice on monday next week and I will do a 5 min speech :) I’m happy for that! We will also have some tournaments in school and maybe with other schools too. There is only two high schools in this city so it must be Ok!

Bach Prelude in C

October 10, 2007 at 12:33 am (Uncategorized)

FINALLY, I got my hands on Bach Prelude in C major or in another words, Prelude 1 from Book 1. Uhhhh I was looking for this song a loooooong time but unfortunately I didn’t even know the name. Today I just went to my piano class and just asked what this song was called and my teacher said it’s Bach Prelude in C :) I’m so happy I can’t wait till tomorrow when I can practice this nice song.
